Origin Iran, format 318 × 200 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.36 m² of floor, about 10.4' × 6.6'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as ap. 18 kg.

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

Colour and appearance

Colour is recorded as black and grey. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.

Age and condition

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. Being recent, the pile shows little wear and holds its full height.
