Overview

Origin Iran, format 212 × 147 cm — a Qom made entirely by hand. That is roughly 3.12 m² of floor, about 7' × 4.8'. Qom is known for very finely knotted rugs, often in silk.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as ap. 10 kg.

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.
