Overview

Origin India, format 200 × 160 cm — a Loribaft made entirely by hand. That is roughly 3.2 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 5.2'.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 10 mm. Weight is given as ap. 12 kg.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.

Colour and appearance

Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
