Hand-knotted in Iran: a Kashan of 140 × 220 cm. That is roughly 3.08 m² of floor, about 4.6' × 7.2'.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

Colour and appearance

It is catalogued under red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.

Stated condition: approx. 70 years old.
