A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 81 × 57 cm. The covered area is about 0.46 m² (2.7' × 1.9'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as approx. 6 mm. Weight is given as ap.2kg.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. At this size it works as an entryway mat or a bedside rug.

The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
