Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 300 × 200 cm. That is roughly 6 m² of floor, about 9.8' × 6.6'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as ap. 18 kg.

Size and placement

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.

Age and condition

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
