Overview

Origin Iran, format 248 × 343 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. It covers approximately 8.51 m², or 8.1' × 11.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.

Colour and appearance

The stated colourway is red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
