Overview

Origin Iran, format 233 × 270 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.29 m² of floor, about 7.6' × 8.9'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.
