Overview

A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 60 × 90 cm. The covered area is about 0.54 m² (2' × 3'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

The rug is rectangular. A small format, at home in a hallway, beside a bed, or in front of a bench.
