Hand-knotted in Iran: a Nain of 300 × 400 cm. The covered area is about 12 m² (9.8' × 13.1'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A large format for open-plan rooms or formal reception spaces.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

How it reads

The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
