Origin Iran, format 241 × 153 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 3.69 m² (7.9' × 5'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 8 mm. Weight is given as approx. 9 kg.

The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

Colour and appearance

The stated colourway is red and orange. Silk takes light differently from wool, so the same area can look pale from one side and deep from the other.
