Origin Iran, format 210 × 312 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.55 m² of floor, about 6.9' × 10.2'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

What it is made of

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool, silk. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 700,000–799,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

On the colourway

The stated colourway is black and grey. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
