Overview

Origin Iran, format 200 × 305 cm — a Kashmar made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.1 m² of floor, about 6.6' × 10'.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

Size and placement

A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
