The piece in short

Origin Iran, format 203 × 300 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 6.09 m² of floor, about 6.7' × 9.8'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.
