Overview

A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 66 × 89 cm. The covered area is about 0.59 m² (2.2' × 2.9'). Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

What it is made of

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

A small format, at home in a hallway, beside a bed, or in front of a bench.

The stated knot density is 500,000–599,999 knots/m². A knot count at this level belongs to the upper quality class of handmade rugs.
