Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 10 mm. Weight is given as ap. 2 kg.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. At this size it works as an entryway mat or a bedside rug.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

Colour and appearance

The stated colourway is red and orange. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.

Age

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
