Description

Overview

Origin Iran, format 200 × 300 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. It covers approximately 6 m², or 6.6' × 9.8'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 7-10mm.

Size and placement

At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 200,000–299,999 knots/m². In the mid range the pattern stays clearly legible without making the rug delicate.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
