Hand-knotted in Iran: a Tabriz of 212 × 313 cm. It covers approximately 6.64 m², or 7' × 10.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.

How it reads

Colour is recorded as red and orange. Depending on the light and the direction you look from, the surface reads lighter or darker — a property of every handmade rug.
