Origin Iran, format 158 × 109 cm — a Oriental rug made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 1.72 m² (5.2' × 3.6').

Construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-knotted throughout. Pile height is given as approx. 10 mm. Weight is given as ap. 6 kg.

Format and use

The rug is rectangular. A format for a smaller room, or the area directly in front of a sofa.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 300,000–399,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.

On the colourway

The stated colourway is Weiß / beige. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.

Age and condition

Stated age: contemporary, 0–20 years old. As a contemporary piece the pile is still even and largely unwalked.
