Origin Iran, format 250 × 250 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 6.25 m² (8.2' × 8.2'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Stated material: new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Format and use

The rug is round. At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

The stated knot density is 900,000–999,999 knots/m². Very fine knotting of this kind takes many times the working hours and shows correspondingly precise pattern work.

How it reads

Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. Handmade rugs always show slight colour shifts from knot to knot — that is a mark of hand work, not a defect.
