Origin Afghanistan, format 212 × 283 cm — a Kilim made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 6 m² (7' × 9.3').

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-woven throughout. Pile height is given as 5mm.

Size and placement

At this size it anchors a living room as the central surface.

How it is made

Because it is woven rather than knotted, the structure is flat and usable on both sides.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
