What it is made of

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. The rug was hand-woven throughout. Pile height is given as 5mm.

Size and placement

Large enough to hold a full seating group.

How it is made

As a flatweave this piece has no pile: front and back carry the same pattern, and it lies very flat.

How it reads

Colour is recorded as red and orange. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
